Natural disasters occur regularly in Bangladesh; it is a sad but persistent fact of life. Preparedness can help prevent some of the danger, injury and loss during floods and cyclones. The DASCOH programme worked to maintain a level of preparedness at household level. It also maintained the readiness to provide rapid relief response and medical care through DASCOH partners and donor partners in the affected areas as and when required.
DASCOH worked through partner NGOs in time of disaster since the partner NGOs were better at identifying the problem and the people most in need, and they had an implementation network from their projects. Financial support was arranged through SRC and NETZ.
